I Can Only Be Me

This image from NubianGraphics.com is an expression of many Black men in the fields of education, business, art, language, and many other professions. Many feel pressure to have "second face." The white face we wear in public, and the black face that represents who are truly are. Mos Def's first album entitled, "Black on Both Sides," is a way of expressing our identity not only front and back, but in and out as well. It is time to peel off the mask that has been imposed on our faces and let the world see us for who we truly are. Rather it be in the office, the classroom, the field, and even our own homes. Regardless of the venue, we should be proud of our identity.
